Jason CAO is a co-founder and the Chief Investment Officer (“CIO”) of Himension Capital (“Himension”). Prior to Himension, Jason managed proprietary capital at Shanghai Discovering Investment (“Discovering”) with his business partner since 2008 as co-founder and CIO. At Discovering, he started out focusing on commodity futures and was one of the Chinese pioneers who had significant presence trading both futures and physical commodities in Chinese domestic and international markets. From 2012, with the fundamental-focused investment framework and network he had developed in understanding drivers of economic cycle and growth via commodity trading, Jason expanded the strategy to include and then focus on China and global equities where he saw the best long-term opportunity set, especially in sectors where technology plays a disruptive role. Under Jason’s management, Discovering achieved significant capital growth through organic investment returns. Jason started his investment career as a global commodity trader with Jinpeng Futures and Chaos Investment Group in Shanghai in 2003.

Jason holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
